I grew up in Draper, Utah and never intended to stay close to home. I made my way across Europe twice before I was 20 even living in Paris, France for a semester studying French and art. I thoroughly enjoy experiencing new cultures, eating new foods, and meeting new people.
I met my husband, Trevor, while going to school at BYU-Idaho. He is an amazing farm-boy from Idaho with a generous heart and nice features. I could tell we would make cute babies. After getting married we went to the other side of country before we realized we really wanted to raise our children close to family. After living in Utah for 8 years a career change came for Trevor and with it a move to Idaho. We currently reside in Nampa, Idaho and love it!
We have three little girls, Bridget, Ruthie, and Darby and 1 son, Solomon who fill our house with pure delight.
I became interested in birth when I was 21, my sister was pregnant with her second baby and she asked me if I wanted to come to the birth and be her Doula. “What was a Doula?” I asked. “It’s just someone who comes and helps.” (Neither of us really had any idea what a doula was). I went and it was the most amazing thing I had ever experienced! She used the HypnoBirthing® Mongan Method it was such a calm fast birth. I left feeling like I had truly witnessed a miracle and if I did half as well as she did I could have a baby everyday.
I have now been a doula and HypnoBirthing instructor going on 6 years and have attended over 35 births and taught over 75 couples.
I didn’t think about helping other people with their births until I had my own baby. Again, it was such an amazing experience I also used the HypnoBirthing® Mongan Method. When I realized there were too many women who had such sad, hard birth experiences I knew I wanted to be able to help women have the positive birth experience they deserved to have; whether it be through my doula services or teaching them how to relax and use self-hypnosis to have a gentle calm birth no matter the circumstances through the HypnoBirthing® Mongan Method.
